LEONARD SCHWARTZ is an internationally known and widely celebrated poet from New York. Aside from the beautiful imagery of his work and his interest in working with poetry from different languages, Schwartz is well-known as the host of the radio program Cross-Cultural Poetics, which is also available online at the archives of Pennsound. His books include A Message Back And Other Furors (Chax Press), Language As Responsibility (Tinfish Editions), The Library Of Seven Readings (Ugly Duckling Presse) and The Tower Of Diverse Shores (Talisman House).
He has received fellowships and grants from, among others, The National Endowment for the Arts, The New York State Council of the Arts, and Arts Link. His poems have appeared in many journals and publications, including Harper's, Conjunctions, The Denver Quarterly, and Verse.
He is currently Professor of Literary Arts at The Evergreen State College.
DIANE FERRER With a rich and varied visual arts and performance background, Diane joined the company in March as a regular member of the artistic staff. Diane is working on Sudden Orpheus as a performer. She has also contributed her skills in puppet construction and other aspects of show production. Diane is a graduate from the Evergreen State College.
DaRK EaRTH

QUINN BIVINS is a multifaceted artist who passionately brought together his experience in a wide variety of visual arts and music into puppetry. He was responsible for the set design, lighting, and performance in NAKeD PUPPeTS. He graduated with a degree in arts, and puppet and object theatre from The Evergreen State College.
SHAWN DOUGLAS started his professional career at twelve doing Muppet inspired shows for non-profit organizations. Before joining NAKeD PUPPeTS as a performer and video collaborator for DaRK EaRTH, he co-founded DougLuce Puppet Productions with Dan Luce, a company that specializes in puppetry performances for children in educational and public settings. He graduated with a degree from The Evergreen State College.
MARK ASBEL GERTH has extensive experience creating performance and visual arts work, and in arts administration and advocacy. After trying every possible material in his exploration of sculptural possibilities, his search lead to his current interest in puppetry as a method of producing animated sculptural works. When not collaborating with NAKeD PUPPeTS, he is the Communications Manager of the Washington State Arts Commission. He is a graduate of the Evergreen State College.
DAN LUCE is an experienced puppet builder and performer. After studying with master marionette artist Philip Huber, he studied the art of the marionette at the Evergreen State College while working with mentor Ariel Goldberger. Before joining NAKeD PUPPeTS for DaRK EaRTH, he co-founded and performed with DougLuce Puppet Productions with collaborator Shawn Douglas. Dan works as a puppet designer and master builder at Michael Curry Designs and produces his own independent puppetry work.
CHEETAH von TCHUDI utilizes puppetry in the blending of arts and sciences and brought a deep commitment to experimentation to NAKeD PUPPeTS. He focused intensively on experimenting with puppet construction and the movement of objects, and researching issues in agriculture and mycology as they relate to the arts. He studied puppet and object theatre at The Evergreen State College. After leaving NAKeD PUPPeTS, he now runs an organic farm in California.
CASSANDRA ROSE is a multifaceted visual artist who contributed to the company in both administrative and artistic endeavors. With a rich and varied visual arts background, she has contributed her skills in puppet construction, projections and other aspects of show conception.
Monsieur EDGAAR de CAMMEMBERT is our elusive Directeur Artistique Extraordinaire, a position he appointed himself to. He is single-handedly responsible for any questionable creative decision, all rude language, and any equivocal or prurient imagery.
GUEST ARTISTS
OSKER BINTON BROWN is a musician and composer devoted to the study and creation of healing and transcendental music. He contributed one of the sound tracks for DaRK EaRTH.
BRANDON JOHNSON collaborated on the interactive aspects of DaRK EaRTH with Ariel Goldberger. Brandon has an extensive background in theatre, performance, multimedia, and other arts. He is a graduate of the Evergreen State College where he studied philosophy, performance, and multimedia. He is now in Berlin, participating in the lively art culture there.
JUSTN SMITH collaborated in the programming of the interactive aspects of DaRK EaRTH with Ariel Goldberger. Justin is a composer who continually explores the edges of perception. He has been working in experimental music electronics for over fifteen years.
